Grand Canyon

Yesterday I trekked down the Grand Canyon on the Bright Angel trail. It was probably the most physically challenging thing I’ve  ever done. Going down is all laughs and smiles but you forget you have to walk all the way back up. What took two hours to get down took four hours to get back up. And I’m talking a constant incline with no flat points ever! Not even once!

Fair to say I’m a little sore after all the walking but it was worth the view.

I wasn’t really interested in the Grand Canyon before but now I would recommend it to everyone. It's such a magical place. It's hard to explain, you just have to experience it.

Today we are on our way to Las Vegas (whoop whoop) via route 66.

Tonight, we partay.

Grand Canyon

I have never been so emotionally affected by a place in my life. The Grand Canyon had me in awe. When I turned the corner and discovered its immenseness I actually started to shake. I mean, it could have been the vertigo but it really hit me in the chest.  I never expected it to move me as much as it did.

One thing that I’ve noticed on this trip is that Americans really take advantage of all the natural wonders around them. Facilities at tourists attractions are really top notch and most of the time, there are more American visitors than foreign.

On our way to the Grand Canyon we stopped at Montezuma's Castle where I got to learn all America's indigenous people.

We also visited Rock Slide State Park which was the most fun I've had on this trip so far.

It's basically a small canyon with rapid running fresh water and slippery flat rocks you can slide down. Sounds weird, and is a bit painful, but was really great fun.

Tomorrow I am going to trek around the Grand Canyon and watch the sunset again.

It's breathtaking.

Phoenix, Arizona

Today was just a driving day.

We drove cross state from San Diego, California to Phoenix, Arizona. It took about 8 hours.

We stopped at the sand dunes but it was so stinking hot we just scoffed down some food, took photos and left.

Tomorrow there are a few more activities planned as we head to the Grand Canyon.

The next four days are camping so I am really gonna appriciate tonights sleep in a comfy bed.

It was 39 dgrees today… absolute scorcher… and 50% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow. Really don’t want to be pitching tents in the rain.

I ‘m not sure what the internet situation is  at the next stop but i’ll do my best.
