New York City- Here come The Yankees

Hello,

Yesterday morning we went on a shopping tour around Soho. SOHO stands for South Of HOuston (street) it's a lovely neighbourhood. Justin Timerlake, Claire Daines and Alicia Keys all live in SOHO. It's not as hoity toity as the upper east side. It's still got that New York grittiness but in places, it reminded me of Europe with the cobbled streets and patisseries.

In the evening we went to a Yankees game...or as I like to call it, the 'slow clap Mecca'.

Now, I'm a slow clap enthusiast at the best of times so I was really in my element. Slow claps were started every 2-3 minutes and there were even slow clap prompters.

The atmosphere at the game was great and I had an awesome time clapping my socks off but I didn't realise what a slow game baseball is. I dunno if it's the game in general or if it was the teams we were watching (Yankees vs Detroit) but we didn't even stay until the end.

Today we cycled around Central Park. I dunno why I keep getting myself into these situations. Hike the Grand Canyon, bloody cycle everywhere. I'm not a fit person. I don't like fitness. Whyyyy do I do it to myself?

Cycling is one of my favourite ways to explore a city though. Fast enough to get you where you want to go but slow enough to take in all the scenery.

After the cycling, we had a picnic in Central Park and headed to the Natural History Museum.

The Natural History Museum is super fun. At the moment they've got exhibitions from frogs and whales to stars and food. We didn't have that much time but we managed to get to the Planetarium and watched a movie about the journey of the universe which was great.

Tonight we are buggered. So it's take away and bed.

Bit homesick... well food sick really. I miss my mums cooking.

I'll post again in a few days.
